Bathroom Remodeling and Renovations Project - Bull Valley, Illinois
Project Description: The customers had 2 bathrooms that were original to the 1950's house. The first floor bathroom's floor had rotted away due to a leak in the concrete shower pan and was in desperate need of remodeling. They also wanted the second floor bathroom remodeled.
The Solution: We started by quoting a simple bathroom renovation. As the job progressed, the customers spent time searching for products and ideas on the internet and turned the simple bath remodels into high end finished products. Both bathrooms were completely gutted to the studs. All plumbing, heating and electric were removed and redone. The rotted subfloor was removed and replaced on the first floor. The first floor incorporated a custom poured, tiled shower pan with a walk-in shower that incorporated built in shampoo and soap holders, a grab bar and high end brushed nickel faucet. We ordered a free standing, furniture grade cabinet with a circular sink bowl.
We have continued working at the Bull Valley residence. Most recently we replaced the original windows with triple pane, Pella, designer series and installed new casing around the windows. We also repaired and tuck pointed the chimney, installed a new asphalt driveway, rebuilt a second floor deck and installed a sliding glass door to access the deck.
On the second floor, we installed a white cast iron tub with a shower, hand held sprayer, grab bar, and wire shampoo and soap holders all in high end brushed nickel. Both bathroom walls had tile wainscot installed. First floor was in a staggered subway tile pattern and the second floor was a high glossed deep blue tile. The second floor vanity was a painted, white, freestanding furniture grade cabinet.
